Valda Dienavs ID’d as Woman Killed in Glastonbury Pedestrian Accident on Griswold Street
Glastonbury, Connecticut (January 25, 2020) – Authorities have identified the woman who was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver Thursday afternoon in Glastonbury as Valda Dienavs, 84, of Glastonbury.
The deadly pedestrian accident happened at about 12:05 p.m. Thursday, January 23 in the 400 block of Griswold Street.
Police said Dienavs was crossing the street to check her mail when for an unknown reason, she was hit by a vehicle that was traveling westbound.
Paramedics responded to the scene and found Dienavs lying on the road. She was declared dead at the scene.
The driver of the vehicle involved did not stop to render aid and fled the scene.
Meanwhile, police are still looking for the hit-and-run driver. Anyone with information about the suspect whereabouts is asked to call Glastonbury Police Department police at 860-633-8301.
