Teodor Teja Seriously Injured in Putnam Car Accident at Woodstock Avenue (Route 171) and West Thompson
Putnam, Connecticut (January 25, 2020) – An 84-year-old Woodstock man was seriously injured Tuesday evening in a traffic accident at an intersection in Putnam, authorities said.
The crash happened at about 4:53 p.m. Tuesday, January 21 at the intersection of Woodstock Avenue (Route 171) and West Thompson.
Authorities said Teodor Teja, of Woodstock, was driving a 1998 Toyota Camry westbound on Woodstock Avenue when for an unknown reason, the Camry collided with a 2011 Subaru Forester driven by Andre Bouchard, 22, of Woodstock.
Teja suffered major injuries and was taken to Day Kimball Hospital in Putnam. He was later transferred to UMASS Memorial Hospital for further treatment.
Bouchard was also transported to Day Kimball Hospital to be treated for possible minor injuries.
Authorities closed Woodstock Avenue for about three and a half hours following the crash. As of 8:39 p.m., the road was reopened to traffic.
