Phillip Selavka Hospitalized after Fatal Colchester Car Accident on Route 16 (Lebanon Avenue) near Northern Road
Colchester, Connecticut (February 9, 2020) – A 61-year-old Colchester man was seriously injured Friday afternoon in a deadly head-on crash in Colchester, authorities said.
The fatal crash happened shortly before 1:30 p.m. Friday, February 7 on Route 16 near the Goldi-Locks Self Storage facility, just east of Northern Road. Route 16 is also known as Lebanon Avenue.
According to the authorities, Diane Wallis, 70, of Colchester, was driving a Ford Focus westbound on Route 16 when, for unknown reasons, the Focus veered into the opposite lane and collided head-on with an eastbound Acura driven by Phillip Selavka, 61, of Colchester.
Wallis was transported to Middlesex Medical Clinic Marlborough, where she was later pronounced dead.
Selavka sustained major injuries to his lower body and was taken to Backus Hospital.
