North Haven, Connecticut (January 6, 2020) – A pedestrian and was struck and injured by a vehicle Wednesday evening on Route 5 in North Haven, authorities said.

The accident happened at about 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, December 18 on Route 5 (Washington Avenue) in front of the Acura dealership.

According to the authorities, the pedestrian was hit by a vehicle on Washington Avenue for an unknown reason.

The pedestrian was taken to a local hospital with unspecified injuries. The name and condition of the patient at this time were not immediately available.

Washington Avenue was shut down between Scrub Oak Road and Bradley Street.

The accident remains under investigation by the police.
