Leticia Lennon Killed in Middletown Car Accident on Route 66

Leticia Lennon ID’d as Woman Killed in Middletown Crash on Route 66 (Washington Street) near Palmer Field

Middletown, Connecticut (January 26, 2020) – Authorities have identified the woman who was killed Friday night in a traffic accident in Middletown.

Leticia M. Lenno, 38, of South Windsor, died in the crash that happened at around 11:00 p.m. Friday, January 24 in the area of 485 Washington Street, near the railroad overpass east of Palmer Field. Washington Street is also known as Route 66.

Authorities said Lenno was driving a 2017 Nissan Rogue westbound on Washington Street when for an unknown reason, her vehicle crossed over the solid double yellow lines and collided head-on with an eastbound 2010 Chevrolet Silverado driven by a 17-year-old male.

Lenno was pronounced dead at the scene. Cherise L. Sheff, 38, of Hartford,  who was in the front passenger seat of the Rogue, was trapped in the wreckage and had to extricated by firefighters. She was then taken to Hartford Hospital in critical condition.

The driver of the Silverado and his two passengers, Kevin McAuliffe, 54, of East Hampton, and a 17-year-old male, were all taken to Hartford Hospital with minor injuries.
