Jordi Cruz and Juan Guaman Hospitalized after Bridgeport Crash on Park Avenue and Olive Street
Fairfield County, Connecticut (February 22, 2020) – Jordi Cruz and Juan Guaman, both 18, from Bridgeport, were among five people injured early Saturday morning in a traffic accident in Bridgeport.
The wreck occurred at about 12:40 a.m. at the intersection of Park Avenue and Olive Street.
Police said a black Honda was traveling eastbound on Olive Street when the driver allegedly ran a stop sign and was hit by the Bridgeport Police vehicle that was traveling northbound on Park Avenue.
The police car was en route to help another officer on a call at the time of the accident.
Emergency crews responded to the scene to render aid to the involved parties.
The driver of the police car was taken to St Vincent’s Hospital with minor injuries and was later released.
The driver of the Honda suffered minor injuries and was taken to St Vincent’s Hospital.
Cruz, who was the right-front passenger of the Honda, was taken to St Vincent’s Hospital with minor injuries. He was treated and released from the hospital.
The left-rear passenger, Guaman, was taken to Bridgeport Hospital for treatment of minor injuries and was released.
The right rear passenger sustained major injuries and was taken to Bridgeport Hospital. His current condition was immediately unknown.
All four occupants of the Honda were from Bridgeport.
