Edward Calandrella Killed in New Haven Pedestrian Accident near West Haven Train Station
New Haven, Connecticut (January 20, 2020) – The pedestrian who was struck and killed by a train Wednesday morning in New Haven has been identified as Edward Calandrella, 53, of West Haven, authorities said.
The deadly crash happened at about 5:40 a.m. Wednesday, January 15 near the West Haven Train Station.
Officials said Calandrella was trespassing on the tracks near the West Haven Train Station when he was hit by a westbound train that was heading to New York City.
Calandrella died at the scene.
The train stopped and passengers were transferred to another train.
The Metropolitan Transportation Authority Police Department police are investigating the accident.
