Denise Decker ID’d as Woman Killed in Burlington Car Accident on Route 4 near Mountain Spring Road
Burlington, Connecticut (February 17, 2020) – Authorities have identified the woman who was killed Saturday evening in a two-vehicle accident in Burlington as Denise Decker, 53, of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
The deadly crash happened at about 6:43 p.m. Saturday, February 15 on Route 4 near the Mountain Spring Road intersection.
Police said a 33-year-old Torrington man was driving a 2015 Infiniti Q50 eastbound on Route 4 when he allowed the vehicle to cross over the center divider into the westbound lane and collided head-on with a 2018 Honda HR-V operated by a 70-year-old Burlington man.
As a result of the collision, both vehicles came to a stop in the opposite shoulder from the direction they had been traveling.
Decker, who was riding as a passenger in the Infiniti, was pronounced dead at the scene. The Infiniti driver was taken to a hospital for treatment of his injuries.
Two other passengers in the Infiniti, a 37-year-old Oakville man and 34-year-old Torrington woman, were airlifted to Hartford Hospital. According to the authorities, the Oakville man had major injuries.
The driver of the Honda and his two passengers, a 54-year-old Burlington woman and a 56-year-old man, were all transported to a hospital. The Burlington woman sustained serious injuries, the authorities said.
