6 Injured after Amtrak Train Crashes Into Truck in Newington

Six Injured in Newington Train Accident on Stamm Road Friday

Newington, Connecticut (January 25, 2020) – Six people were injured Friday morning after an Amtrak train struck a maintenance pick-up truck in Newington, according to a local news source.

The accident happened at about 11:30 a.m. Friday, January 24 on Stamm Road.

Authorities said the Amtrak train was heading northbound from New Haven to Springfield when it hit the truck. Two workers inside the maintenance truck were able to get out before the collision.

There were sixty-four passengers on board the train. Authorities said six passengers suffered minor in the crash.

The accident remains under investigation.
