2 Dead, 2 Hospitalized after Shelton Car Accident on River Road near Southbank Park
Shelton, Connecticut (February 10, 2020) – Two people were killed and two others were injured Sunday night in a two-vehicle crash in Shelton, authorities said.
The deadly accident happened at around 11:30 p.m. Sunday, February 9 on River Road near Southbank Park.
According to the authorities, a white Toyota RAV4 collided with a white BMW 5 series on River Road.
The two people in the BMW were pronounced dead at the scene. Their names have not been disclosed pending notification of family.
The other two occupants of the BMW were transported to local hospitals for treatment of their injuries.
The sole occupant and driver of the RAV 4 was evaluated at the crash site and released.
Authorities closed the road for several hours as a result of the crash. The roadway was later reopened.
The accident remains under investigation.
